(for Ages 16-18)

Dress up as clowns and invite several couples to do the same. Go to the local mall and have ordinary people vote for the best costume. The winning couple receives a home-made trophy. Afterwards, go to the food court for dinner.

Get a friend who is a police officer to arrest the person you want to ask on a date. Have the officer make a mock arrest, telling your friend that he/she is being charged with stealing your heart. That is when you appear. Tell the police officer that you would like to have this person released into your custody, then start your planned date immediately.

Take a gondola or ski lift ride at one of the local ski areas. Pack a lunch to take with you, along with snacks.

Go trap shooting.

Gather 26 different objects (starting with different letters A-Z) on a road rally, but no more than 2 items per stop. Throw in a couple of mandatory stops (clues must be solved to find those places).

Choose a subject, serious or silly, and survey the public for their opinions. Then report your findings to the local newspaper or save the information for a school assignment.

Explore caves for an afternoon. Be careful to use the proper equipment and take along a qualified spelunker (person experienced in caving) .

Build a tree house (make sure you have permission from the tree's owner!) If your date has children, involve them in the project.

Go to a travel agency and explain that you are comparison shopping a trip you are planning to take. Ask for an itinerary of things to see. Get estimates for airfare, lodging, food, and transportation.

Catch your own worms and use them early in the morning to catch fish at your favorite lake or stream. Offer to bait your date's hook.

Obtain a large empty cardboard boxes from a furniture store. Using craft paints, paint each others' box. Then go to a mall and window shop wearing the box designed by your date.

Rent a pair of roller blades together and spend the day at it. If you have never roller bladed before, make sure the first date includes a lesson on how to stop!
