(for Ages 16-18) Take a sunrise hike, and cook breakfast at the end of the trip. Plan your hike so that you begin just as the sun is rising. Take a class together. Check out the local community center, recreation center, library, or college for a one-day class on painting, photography, sailing, dancing, etc. Stop at a restaurant afterwards to share a dessert. Have dinner in a rowboat in a lake or pond. Make the dinner simple, with finger foods. And as a nice touch, hide a small gift or memento in a waterproof container, attached to a line in the water, which you can retrieve after dinner and present to your partner. Exercise together a couple of times a week (walking, riding, jogging, take an exercise class, etc.). Bring water, but leave the iPod behind. It's hard to talk when you've got something in your ears. Go sailing. Many marinas along the coast have different kinds of sailing and motorized yachts to rent by the hour. These packages include the captain, food, entertainment, and many other extras that you may or may not want to pay for (i.e. fishing, candle-lit dinner, etc.). Take a fruit plate to elderly people in your neighborhood. Explain that you'd like to share some food and fun with them. Share some humorous stories, then offer to play a game (Chinese checkers is a good one). Ask them to share the story of how they met, and their favorite date. Go to the State or local fair. Get your portrait done by a local artist or cartoonist. Try to win a prize at the arcade. Share a treat from the food court. Bring a blanket to watch a musical performance. Rent a snowmobile and ride to your favorite area. Take lunch and hot cocoa. Make sure someone knows your itinerary, or plan your trip with another couple. Have a Pajama party for just the two of you, watch movies, eat popcorn and play board games! It's a lot of fun! During Christmas holidays or Halloween, drive around looking at the decorations on the houses (drive in the best neighborhoods with the best decorations and compare what you both like). Then go to the store and buy some decorations and decorate one of your rooms or house together. Play pictionary with playdough or finger-paints. Be creative and use your imagination. Take pictures to keep the memories alive. Create a message inviting your spouse for a romantic getaway (cut the invitation into pieces) and send it a few pieces at a time during the week. Or you can put the pieces into balloons and cover his/her floor with the balloons. Pack both your bags, get someone to watch the kids, and go away for at least two nights. Watching a lightning storm while inside cuddled up on a couch. Go pick strawberries, raspberries, or other fruit together. Leave stems attached and dip a few large strawberries into chocolate (you'll need to find dipping chocolate). Or make ice cream crepes together with fresh fruit. Or for a simple treat, enjoy ice cream with fresh fruit topping. Bring a disposable camera and ask people on the street to take your picture in front of landmarks or scenic backdrops. Don't be afraid to be silly. Find a photo booth (usually in a drug store or arcade) and take pictures together. Take two sets so you can keep one and your friend the other. After the pictures are developed, you can follow-up with another date. Plan to make treats together, and look at your pictures while the treats are cooking (or cooling).
