First Dates
(for Ages Under 16)
Have a "Bring your own topping" waffle party (i.e. whipped topping, strawberries, blueberries, ice cream, peaches, apple sauce, bacon, etc.).
Plan a study date. Be sure you have a well-lighted spot with no interruptions from the outside. While you're working, take refreshment and stretching breaks about every hour.
Pick up trash in a section of your community. There are local cleanups organized within the community, or stretches of roads sponsored by different organizations. But you don't have join a group. Look around and see the need.
Buy two balsa wood planes. Go to a balcony of a tall building. Let 'em fly - then run to the bottom to retrieve them and head back up again for another flight.
Enjoy sitting around a fireplace eating popcorn and visiting with your friends. Spend the time telling your favorite jokes and stories.
Volunteer to prepare and serve dinner at an orphanage or a local homeless shelter. While service in needed throughout the year, there are greater needs during various holidays. You can also donate canned and packaged goods. Find out what are their unique needs.
