Games and Activities
(for Ages Under 16)

Give each person 7 clothes pins. On "go" each person must clip his/her clothes pins on someone else's clothes (7 different people). The game continues for about 5 minutes. On STOP, the winner is the one with the fewest pins attached to his/her clothes.

Have your date come over and each write 10 fun ideas to do in the city where you live (fairly close activities), which you can videotape. An example would be to trip on the library stairs in front of people. Take turns doing the things you have written down. Record the funny scenes, then watch while you have root-beer floats.

Have the group form a circle with their hands out showing all their fingers. This is a count down game. The point is to say something that you have done, and if others haven't done it, they have to put down a finger. Someone says something about him/herself that is different from those around him/her and the others who don't have that in common or haven't done what that person has done puts a finger down. Whoever has any fingers left out wins (decide on a prize before playing). This game can last for a long time and is very enjoyable when wanting to know the real side of people.

Go to a supermarket and ride the kiddy rides (carousel or fire trucks), then pay for some little kids to ride.

Darken a house or apartment completely. Everyone goes to a specific area to wait while one person goes and hides. After giving the person time enough to hide, the remainder of the group tries to find him. When he is found, the person finding him gets into the same hiding place. There they wait until all those playing have found the hiding place. The first person finding the hiding place gets to hide next.

Organize guests in a circle. Couples share an experience from their life. Each person then creates that story in 15 minutes by cutting out pictures, headlines, and articles. You could then switch partners and repeat the activity. Or simply display the stories for everyone to browse throughout the evening.

Play a quiz game like Trivial Pursuit or Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

Have an egg toss.

See how small a circle your group can squish into. Keep making the circle smaller and think of ways to get in a smaller area, such as making pyramids, sitting on laps, etc. Or use a small square of plywood and see how many can fit on a one foot square.

Pack a cup full of flower so tight that when you flip it over it will come out in the shape of the cup. Place a dime carefully on the top of the mound. With knives, each person slices away a portion of the flower mound, and the first person who makes the dime fall, goes "fishing" for it with their teeth...no hands. This is very messy and quite entertaining.

Each guy is assigned a letter, and each girl a number. They all sit in a circle (or two lines for larger groups). One person is selected to sit in the middle. The moderator calls out a number and letter. The person of the opposite sex who is called must kiss the person in the middle (IT) on the cheek before the person of the same sex as IT kisses the person who is trying to kiss IT. This may be altered to "Hugging Rugby" for small kids.

List your date's best qualities in alphabetical order (one quality for each letter of the alphabet).

Each person is given a balloon to tie around his/her ankle. At a signal to start, each player tries to step on the balloon of the remaining participants. If your balloon is popped, you are out of the game. The last one with an unpopped balloon is the winner.
