Ideas for Answering
(for Ages Under 16)
Go to the store and buy a puzzle (not too big) and put it together and on the back you write the message and take the puzzle apart then put it back in the box and take it to him/her to put together.
Bake chocolate chip cookies in the shape of the words "YES". It's fun, yummy, and a great way to let him/her know you want to go!
Cut out white and yellow construction paper in the shape of fried eggs, then tape the eggs up all over in his/her room with a note: "I would be very "egg-cited" to go to ________ with you."
Go to the person's house. Knock on the door and when they open it, say YES! And don't forget to smile.
Tie a message to a kite and fly it in his/her yard. When he/she comes out to see what you're doing, silently hand him/her the string and leave.
Invite him/her to go on a treasure hunt by contacting different people. Include your friends. As an example, he/she may be asked to sing a song, or do a dance to get the next clue. The final destination could be a large cookie with the answer "YES".
Laminate two pieces of paper with the sayings, "The answer you await lies within; don't be chicken...DIG IN!!" On the other put "I'd be 'gutless' to say no." Have your favorite butcher take out the guts of a chicken and put the first message inside, and the second on top, covered with plastic wrap.
Buy a children's sand bucket (pail). Fill it with candy with a note saying: "Let's go the dance, just as pails" (pals).
Get a couple packages of cookie dough, wax paper, and plastic forks. Put large scoops of the cookie dough on the wax paper with forks sticking out the top. Put these all over his/her room. Get a poster or a sign saying "If your forkin out the dough I'd love to go".
Completely coat their room with crepe paper with your message on a poster board.
Get a remote control car with a message attached to it. Drive it up to your date in class or at practice or at some event.
Buy a box of Macaroni noodles. Type up your invite/answer on a small piece of paper, and then place it in one of the noodles. Be sure that it cannot be seen by just looking at it.
Make up a message with secret code. Send the decoder over several days.
Decorate you date's room in pink balloons and pink crepe paper. put pink confetti on their floor, and put a note on his/her bed that says: "I'll be tickled pink to go with you to the dance." Put your name in one of the balloons, so he/she has to pop them to see who it is.
Leave a note on their car saying that you would go on a date with him/her "when hell freezes over". Then, cover his/her front porch with blocks of ice, silver glitter, and cotton balls. Make a big sign that reads HELL with a note underneath that reads: "Hell must have froze over.. I'll be happy to go on a date with you."
