Ideas for Asking
(for Ages Under 16)
Make a big sign that says "It would blow my mind if you'd pop and say yes to ________ with me." Then get his/her favorite soda, some blow pops, popcorn, suckers, balloons and bubbles. Place the items next to the sign. Remember to put your name in one of the balloons so he/she has to pop them all to find your name!
Go out to his/her car while he/she is in class or at work and fill the car with balloons. Include a note or a posterboard, asking him/her out.
Get a bag of skittles. On one side of the Skittles write a message: "Will you go to the dance?" On the other side put numbers so that when the numbers are in order the message is spelled. Put all the Skittles in a jar with instructions on how to arrange the Skittles. They then have to sort all the Skittles to find the ones with letters.
This girl I was wanting to ask to prom was really into photography. I bought a disposable camera and took pictures of words I wrote out on paper. "Will-You-Go-To-Prom-With-Me". Each word was a different exposure. I gave her $5 and the camera to develop the pictures.
Send your date clues during the day (your last clue sends him/her to collect a piņata, which goes with the theme of your dance). Inside is a sign that says: "Hey, I would go hog wild if you were my date for Pigskin Ball", or "Dancing for joy if you could be my date for the Junior Prom". Or just make up your own message depending on what the design of the piņata is. Don't forget to fill it with candy. Remember to remind him/her to break it open.
On a blank T-shirt, write with permanent marker, write on a plain shirt, "Out of all the names on this tee will you go to_________with me?" Write different names all over the shirt with washable marker, then write your name with permanent marker. Give instructions to wash the shirt to find out who is asking (your name will be the only one left).
Fill a bucket full of mud and put the message somewhere inside... make him/her find it.
Put the words of: Will - you - go - out - with - me? on separate pieces of paper. Then put them into a bag of kitty litter and have them find the words!!!!
Take a pile of plastic plates and write upon them separately letter by letter spelling: "Will you go to the Prom with me." Add frosting to outside of plates so it looks like a cake and give it to your prospective date.
To ask someone to a dance, laminate the message "I'd melt if you would go with me to the dance" and then freeze it in a block of ice. Tell them to melt whatever you gave them, so when it's all melted, they will see your message.
If you want to ask someone, just put a baby pool filled with water in their front yard. Then put pennies at the bottom of it and some rubber duckies floating in it. Then have a posterboard saying " I would be a LUCKY DUCK if you went to _________ with me."
Try having a date announced on a local radio station (sometimes local disc jockeys are endowed with a good sense of humor and will help out free of charge). Then send an anonymous note asking him/her to listen to that station at the time the announcement is to be made.
Get a bunch of cardboard boxes from a local grocery store and build a castle on the lawn. Attach a flag saying "Princess --------" Inside, leave a note asking "Her royal highness" out on a date. Be sure to tell her who the Prince Charming is.
Buy a bag of Hershey kisses and take out all the little papers that say kisses, replacing them with little papers that state things you liked about him/her. You can number them, creating a message when put together in order (invitation or a poem).
Send the following note: Genesis 2:18 reminds us that" It is not good that a man should be alone...." "Would you join me for next week's dance?"
