You will need a big box of the rainbow goldfish crackers, a vegetable tray, and a live goldfish. Spread the crackers in the tray. Put the live goldfish where the dip would normally go, then write the following: "You are the only fish in the sea for me. I want you to go to the dance with me."
Cut out dozens of paper hearts and glue a Popsicle to each heart. Stick the hearts all over the lawn. Make one big heart that says "Don't have a heart attack, I'm just asking you for a date"

Go to the market and buy a bunch of different candy bars and then use what they say on them, taping them to a poster to ask someone on a date or to a dance. Here's an example: Hey there [big hunk] [look]'s like your my [lifesaver]. I think you and I should [Mamba] all night at Sader(the dance).
Go to your potential date's house with a friend. Have a friend duct tape you to a tree or bush outside your potential date's house with a sign that says "Baby I'm stuck on you". This is a sure fire way of getting that great first date!
Get a pumpkin. Laminate the message and put in the middle of the pumpkin guts. The person has to clean the pumpkin out and carve a smile for "yes" and a frown for "no".
Buy a LARGE bag of M&Ms. Punch out enough circles with a hole punch corresponding to the letters in your name. Write the letters on the small circles and glue them on the M&M's (one letter for each M&M). Put them in a bag and tape the bag to a sign "Will you go with me to ___________".
A cute way to ask someone you don't know well to a dance is to buy the Ice Breaker gum and put it all over their room with a sign that says "I think Prom would be a good ice breaker, will you go with me?"
A fun way to ask someone to a dance is to set up a scavenger hunt. Put one ingredient to a cookie recipe at each clue. At the end, he/she comes back with all of the ingredients and you make cookies together.
Leave a tub of melted butter in the askees first class with no note (they will be confused). In their second class, leave a bag of popped popcorn and a note saying "I wanted to butter you up before I popped the question. Will you be my date to .... , Love __"
Take a large box, tape a strip of paper on the bottom with your name, and fill the box with shreds of paper. Wrap the box and tape a note to the outside, inviting him/her to a dance, and that your name can be found on one of the slips of paper.
Give your prospective date an unopened bag of flour with a note that says "Look in the flour." The next day, after he/she has searched the bag of flour with no luck, give him/her a rose (or other kind of flower) with a rolled up note in the middle: "Oops! Wrong flower! Will you go out with me anyway?"
