(for Ages Under 16) Talk to one of your local movie theatres and see if they are willing to put some slides in the pre-movie advertising. Give them the message you want it to say (asking or answering). Take the person you are trying to ask to the movie and watch their reaction as they get asked out on the big screen. Trash their room with a saying to the effect "My heart would be "trashed" if you would go to the dance with me." Take a bottle of pop with a twist top. Insert a laminated slip of paper that asks: Will you go to prom with me? When the two of you are sitting next to each other alone, hum the melody of a phone (ex: the nokia theme song {dana nana nana aaa} or your intended date's favorite song.) Pull out the soda pop bottle, open it, and say "it's for you." Buy DOZENS of "Swedish Fish" gummy candies, (individually wrapped) and put them all over his/her room. (I don't mean just a couple, I'm talking he/she'll be having fishes turn up in odd places MONTHS after the dance.. in drawers, between sheets, in shoes, etc.) Make a poster decorated with fish that says: "If fishes were wishes and you had three, Would one of them be to go to the dance with me?" Get toilet paper, string, confetti, balloons, and trash her room. Then write on her door, "I'd be a MESS" and when she walks in, have a poster hanging from the ceiling, "if you didn't go to prom with me." Make a large message with sidewalk chalk on his/her street. Draw a path and put a word about every 25 feet. Call and ask them to take a walk outside and follow the path. Use your best voice disguise. Take your date to a restaurant and prearrange for the waiters to come out and sing their Happy Birthday song with new lyrics asking him/her to prom. Tie bananas to a tree and attach a note saying I'd go bananas if you will go to the dance with me. For a special occasion, try a treasure hunt--complete with clues hidden in the apartment building, around campus, or inside his/her apartment Deliver to him/her a softball that has "will you be my catch?" written on it. Also include the time, your name, and place to meet. Send a lift pass and a coupon for a cup of steamy hot chocolate. Then head for the ski slopes. Rent a monkey suit and take a bunch of bananas. Slit the fruit and slide notes into each banana, which when pieced together form the poem of your choosing. Plenty of "monkey plays" can be utilized.
