Ideas for Asking
(for Ages 19-21)
Get some eggs and hard boil them, one for every letter of your name. After they are done, let them cool in the fridge over night. The next day use a white crayon and put one letter of your name on each egg.. Put some candy in the basket, and a note that says something like, "I'm dyeing to go to the dance with you...to find out who this, is dye the eggs and put the name together."
Get a box of Honeycomb cereal, on the outside write "Honey Comb your hair and lets go Dance'n" Then on the inside have your name cut up in pieces and let them figure it out.
Get a small cake pan and fill it with water. Laminate your message, and when the water is partly frozen, put the it in the middle. When it is frozen, frost it to look like a cake. They will try to eat it and will have to wait for it to melt. :)
Make a simple web site and ask him/her out personally (get a web page from a free service). You may want to add some nifty graphics like hearts. If they don't have the internet, have them go to the Library.
Make a cake, and then with Alpha-bits Cereal, spell out "Will you go out with me?".
Buy DOZENS of "Swedish Fish" gummy candies, (individually wrapped) and put them all over his/her room. (I don't mean just a couple, I'm talking he/she'll be having fishes turn up in odd places MONTHS after the dance.. in drawers, between sheets, in shoes, etc.) Make a poster decorated with fish that says: "If fishes were wishes and you had three, Would one of them be to go to the dance with me?"
While at school, have a friend deliver a treasure map leading from his/her classroom to yours (the hardest path possible, with "X" marking where you are and a time to meet you). Wear a sign or a t-shirt with a big "X" on. Just ask him/her out or give him/her a bottle with gold chocolate coins with a note asking for a date.
The theme of my girls ask guys dance was "The Punk Rawk Show" and to ask my guy, I made a giant concert ticket that said "The Punk Rawk Show featuring You and Me, etc". I cut it up and hid it in pieces around his room. He had to put it together to see what it said.
Cut out circles of construction paper and purchase Hershey kisses. Leave the circles and kisses on the floor of the bedroom, car, or office of your intended date with a note that says, "Now that I've SPOTTED you and KISSED the ground you walk on, will you go with me to ___?"
Take glow in the dark stars and spell out "Will you go to ______ with me?" (followed with a heart and your name).
Is there a special place you'd like to get him/her to secretly? Cut out letters from magazines, paste them together to form a secret message, and arrange for a friend to deliver the message for this anonymous rendezvous.
Get a pumpkin. Laminate the message and put in the middle of the pumpkin guts. The person has to clean the pumpkin out and carve a smile for "yes" and a frown for "no".
A cute way to ask someone you don't know well to a dance is to buy the Ice Breaker gum and put it all over their room with a sign that says "I think Prom would be a good ice breaker, will you go with me?"
A fun way to ask someone to a dance is to set up a scavenger hunt. Put one ingredient to a cookie recipe at each clue. At the end, he/she comes back with all of the ingredients and you make cookies together.
Tie bananas to a tree and attach a note saying I'd go bananas if you will go to the dance with me.
Get a fortune cookie and take the fortune out of it and put in your own fortune that says will you go to.... with me? The easiest way to get the fortune out is to take tweezers and just pull it out and then put the new one in the same way.
