Last Minute Dates
(for Ages 22-24)
Have a competition to design a protective package for an unboiled egg. Couples cannot spend more than $1 on supplies. Then see whose egg can be dropped from a pre-determined height without breaking. Make up a certificate for the successful couples.
Put together a puzzle on a rainy evening.
Spend an afternoon cleaning out your garage attic.
Drive around different neighborhoods in your area to find the most beautiful and oddest landscaping and yard ornaments..
Go miniature golfing (perfect for two to four couples).
Go shopping together for a gift for someone like your mother or father. Take your date along with you to the mall and look for the gift together.
Is there a television show worth watching? Pop a large bowl full of popcorn, leave it on his/her porch, inviting him/her over for the show. Or deliver the message in person.
Check out a croquet set from a games center and play between the lights on campus .
Visit the botanical gardens in your city or town.
Go people watching at the airport. Watch for farewells and homecomings of loved ones. Notice the difference in the business people and tourists. The business people will walk briskly, have their briefcases in hand, and will often look at their watches as they de-board. Tourists, on the other hand, will walk more leisurely, look at the pictures on the walls, and even take pictures. For even more fun, try to single out somebody that looks like a famous person. When you spot a resemblance, tell your date the name of the celebrity and see if they can point out the same person. Don't forget to stop at one of the restaurants to relax and have some dinner or dessert.
Go to the beach and get into a water fight while walking on the water's edge.
Check out the local newspaper's entertainment section for free events.
Obtain a long rope for an evening of jump rope. Try playing follow the leader, tag, contests to test endurance and speed, or some of the old school-day favorites. The faster you go the more fun it will be.
Take a stroll around the block -- and hold hands as you walk.
Go to a local furniture store and try out various furniture pieces.
