Lunch Dates
(for Ages Under 16)
Barbeque kabobs on the grill. Ask couples to bring a dish to pass. Put on some music and enjoy socializing.
Have a treasure hunt on bikes. Each clue leads to a spot which has food you gather for a picnic. Make the clues challenging but not impossible. By the time you reach the picnic site you will have gathered all the food you need for the meal. For larger groups, this could be designed as a car rally.
Set up a table near the road and have a fast food lunch. During lunch, select a color of car, and count cars with your color. At the end of lunch, the person who saw the most cars gets to pick dessert.
Pretend to be mimes at lunch. No one can say a word during the entire meal.
Plan a fast food picnic inside a fast food restaurant. Talk with the manager to make sure it’s okay. Pack a basket complete with a table cloth, glasses, and candles/holders (unscented is preferred.) After ordering, sit down, then bring out the table cloth and candles. Unwrap food and pour drinks into glasses. Sometimes employees will come out to refill drinks. Remember to have fun.
Have a lunch setup on a fire escape (only if you can do so without obstructing the stairway in case of real emergency).
Have a picnic lunch on a floating dock.
