(for Ages 30-39) Decorate a snow-covered tree in the mountains with berries, nuts, and pieces of fruit. Leave it as a gift for the animals. Plant trees together. Look for a local organization that will provide trees and training. Bring sack lunches or cook hamburgers and hotdogs afterwards. Go for a boat or ferry ride. Many large cities offer boat tours. Hike across a nearby bridge. Favorites are the Golden gate in the West, or any of the NYC bridges in the East. Hike to a natural spring in your area. Enjoy the fresh smells and scenery. Leave behind nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures. Leave things better than you found them (pick up trash so others can enjoy the trail). Go whitewater rafting. Look for an outfitter, that provides a guide, a meal on the trip, training and transportation. Take your date to the hydroplane races out at the lake or river, followed by a picnic up in the mountains or on the beach. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen. Whoever picks the winning boat gets to name the next date. Go panning for gold. Bring along an experienced friend or take lessons. It takes patience and time. Go water-skiing. This works best as an all-day group activity. If you are a beginning skier, seek out a boat with a practice boom or someone who is experienced in teaching new skiers. Bring food, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Invite your dates to an outdoor concert. Rent a concert video and watch it in the back yard (set up a big screen TV or projector). Go deer or bird hunting with a camera. You might be safer to choose a time outside of the hunting season. Using an astronomy book from the library, identify constellations and stars. There are maps on the internet that generate a view of the sky for your location and date and time. Take your date fishing. Clean and cook the fish you catch. Bring the fixings and recipe you want to try. If this is new to you, you can go to a trout farm that guarantees fish and they will help you clean your catch. Go to a campsite for a dinner/movie night. Pop popcorn over the fire and watch a movie. Cook a Dutch oven dinner. For power, bring a generator or use the cigarette lighter socket with an ac/dc TV/VCR or rent a site with electrical hookup. Rent a small electric generator from an equipment rental shop. Take the generator, at least 200 feet or longer of electrical extension cords, fire wood, matches, marshmallows, a coat hanger, a few good movies, a small color TV and a VCR to a fire pit approved secluded location. Place the generator as far away as possible, make your campfire and roast your marshmallows, while watching a video. Take a gunnysack and go pine-nut hunting. Roast pine nuts over an open fire. If your date appreciates baseball, take a big blanket (and maybe some candles and snacks) and go to a little baseball field at night. Lay in the middle of the diamond and star gaze.
