Playing Dates
(for Ages 19-21)

Get together with another couple. Mark off boundaries throughout the town, and play hide and go seek with cars. You and your date go hide, and then call the other couple with a clue (i.e. go the local health dept call with a clue "Aids". It was tons of fun and the only expense was the gas!

We told the girls to be dressed in formals and bring two pairs of other clothes (one to get wet in and one to change into after we got wet). We didn't tell them where we were going when we picked them up (it's a good idea to let their parents in on what you are doing so they don't freak out). We ended up at my house where we had a tea party with tea party foods and sparkling grape juice for our 'tea'. After that, we changed clothes and played Twister, only this Twister was outside and the 'twist' was there was soapy water on the Twister boards. We used two boards so it worked better. We changed and had ice cream sundaes and played a few games. It was a lot of fun and everyone had a good time.

Go golfing in the snow. Set up the holes in a large area, and play with brightly colored balls.

Have a coloring contest. Let a little brother or sister be the judge.

Invite several couples over to your house for dinner. When they come out to the back yard, the girls can start throwing water balloons, and spraying the water hose. If the guys are really smart they'll pay you back. Afterwards, chill and visit over hot pizza.

Many people don't have pools and/or aren't near the ocean... so why not have a party using the sprinklers in your yard? Have people bring things like kiddie pools and pool inflatable toys.

Collect a variety of flat rocks and go to a lake for a rock-skipping contest.

Play a two-player video game with your arms linked while holding the controllers. (Works best with a racing game)

Make paper boats and race them in a stream, or launch them in a lake or pond. Take along some bread to feed the ducks.

Have a competition making the most elaborate cardboard box car. Then "drive" the "cars" into the living room, and watch a movie. It's a DRIVE-IN!

Buy two disposable cameras. Then go around the town to unusual signs, kiddy rides, or to the park and take pictures (together and separate). As a second date, get together after the pictures are developed (don't forget refreshments).

Play capture the flag in a forested area or large field

Play board games. Faster-moving games where everyone participates are the best. Afterwards, move to the kitchen and make a snack.

Get together with several other couples and go to a nearby amusement park.

Put on your oldest clothes and head to a nearby mud hole. These mud holes can be found after rainstorms at baseball diamonds, parks, fields, and land that has been previously used for a garden. A long hose will also do the trick. First have a tug-of-war across the mud. Afterwards, have races where each person drags their partner through the mud.

Borrow a box of Legos, Kinex, building blocks, etc. and divide them evenly among couples. Each couple has 15 minutes to make a project. The winning couple (as determined by applause) receives a certificate or ribbon.
