Service Dates
(for Ages 22-24)
Plan and prepare a surprise birthday party for your little brother or sister, or a roommate. Invite all of his/her friends, make the refreshments and decorations, and supervise the games.
Visit the local bishop or minister’s house and perform service for his family, such as cooking, cleaning, or working in the yard.
Help a charity or nonprofit organization in your community.
Run errands for your parents (keep things light and fun).
With your date make a dinner, including salad, main course, rolls, and desert. Take the dinner to a family that could use a extra help (parent in the hospital after surgery or new baby).
Take children to the zoo. Perhaps you can volunteer with a local youth home or home for mentally handicapped children. Or offer to take your little brothers/sisters.
Dress warmly, then anonymously shovel some older person's driveway and sidewalk. Afterwards, build a snowman, then have a snowball fight in your backyard. Finish up with hot chocolate and homemade cookies.
Bake cookies together and take them to a local retirement home, homeless shelter, police station or to someone you know who is ill or housebound.
Participate in a Habitat for Humanity project. Work one day building a house in your area.
Give your parents a night together. Offer to baby-sit your little brothers and/or sisters, while your parents go on a date.
