(for Ages Under 16) Eat cereal by candlelight in an empty parking lot. Go to the stock car races. Set up a dining table with one long lace-covered tablecloth with chairs on each end and candles in the middle. After seating your date, clap your hands as a signal for your waiter to serve banana splits. If your date is into gothic, go to the cemetery late at night. Just chill out and talk. Take a tablecloth, silverware and candlestick and eat at MacDonald's. Play croquet with a twist (in the wintertime or at night with flashlights). Play water whiffle ball. First and second bases are kiddy swimming pools, third base is a normal base, with a slip-and-slide into home. It is really fun with a big group of people. Go to a wedding reception of someone you don't know. Put together a list of simple projects (i.e. rake leaves, sweep the floor, wash the dishes, vacuum the carpet, etc.). Have competition to see who can perform the complete list quickest. BUT you have to do these acts for a neighbor AND only one action per household (if you have 5 items on your list, you need to do service at 5 different homes). The winning couple gets a certificate or ribbon. Start at your date's house. Before you get to an intersection, flip the coin. Heads you turn right; tails you turn left. Use this technique to decide where to go to dinner (you stop at the first restaurant as determined by the flip of a coin). Get involved in your community and meet new people by participating in a campaign together. Your help will be needed and appreciated. You will gain a better understanding of public service sector. Invent a holiday and celebrate it. Make quilts for babies in less privileged homes. A simple quilt can be made using a soft fabric (fleece or flannel), cutting 3 inch parallel lines (one inch apart) down both sides. Finish the quilt by tying knots on each strip of fabric. Pick up your dates and blindfold them. Drive around for a while, stopping in front of a large cornfield. Guide them (still blindfolded) to the middle, where you have couches and a TV set up to watch a scary movie. It's great, and your date will love the creativity. Go Christmas caroling in July.
