Unusual Dates
(for Ages 19-21)
Get five or six couples together and paint a garage or a house for a neighbor or someone needy. Afterwards, roast hotdogs and sing songs around a fire in a park or in the mountains.
Donate blood together. Afterwards, enjoy some good conversation over cookies and juice.
Set up a dining table with one long lace-covered tablecloth with chairs on each end and candles in the middle. After seating your date, clap your hands as a signal for your waiter to serve banana splits.
Go to a wedding reception of someone you don't know.
Dress up like Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus and visit the little neighborhood children.
Play water whiffle ball. First and second bases are kiddy swimming pools, third base is a normal base, with a slip-and-slide into home. It is really fun with a big group of people.
Go to IHOP and both order the never-ending stack of pancakes. Have a contest to see who can eat the most.
Get involved in your community and meet new people by participating in a campaign together. Your help will be needed and appreciated. You will gain a better understanding of public service sector.
Invent a holiday and celebrate it.
Make quilts for babies in less privileged homes. A simple quilt can be made using a soft fabric (fleece or flannel), cutting 3 inch parallel lines (one inch apart) down both sides. Finish the quilt by tying knots on each strip of fabric.
Take a tablecloth, silverware and candlestick and eat at MacDonald's.
Rent or borrow a gas or electric generator, then spend the evening on the side of a mountain watching television or listening to a stereo while enjoying the view.
Go to a furniture store and get a couple of large shipping boxes, gather about six couples together and decorate the boxes like cars. Then when you are finished, put handles on the inside, travel to the local drive-in, climb in, and walk your group through the drive-in and order dinner.
Go to a department store's toy section, pick out kiddie instruments, and have your own little jam session. Works even better if you take the instruments to some other department like shoes or cosmetics.
Shovel snow off of someone's sidewalk and driveway. It's best if you can do it before they wake up.
Go to the stock car races.
